WRITING WORKSHOPS:

Pamela loves to speak at writers groups and conferences. If you’d like to invite Pamela to give one of the following workshops, please contact her at for availability. Below, she gives descriptions of her workshops.

Plotting the Page-Turner

In this workshop, I cover the tricks and techniques I’ve learned that keep a reader turning pages. We’ll cover hooks, high stakes, story questions, rising action, character arcs and high concept premises, and how to use them in the most effective way – a way designed to keep your reader up all night.

Underwater Mountain Climbing
Or “How to build a publishing career while you’re still unpublished”

There are many things a writer can do to build a network, credibility, and the skills needed to be a prolific, professional writer long before that first contract comes along.

I’ll share my own experiences from my decade-long journey to publication, a journey which included a Golden Heart win and four finals, as well as untold numbers of rejections. In this workshop, I’ll share everything from the tricks to getting your name out there, to the workshops and books that made the biggest difference in my own writing. I’ll also share tips on how to stay upbeat and motivated in the face of rejection, and how to view and use these pre-published years as the apprenticeship they really are.
